Close to 500,000 Ontarians live with Acquired Brain Injury.
This morning the 'Alliance for Action on Brain Injury' was launched at a media event at Queen's Park. The Alliance is a collaboration of five founding organizations, including ONF, to bring attention to the issues surrounding living with an ABI. The goal of the Alliance is to foster a partnership with government to develop and implement the necessary system frameworks, strategies and supports for ABI survivors and their families. Our approach is solution-focused, across all Ministries and across all age groups.
The launch of the Alliance includes a video to bring attention to ABI as a key issue to everyone in Ontario. There is a website where you find out about the Alliance, view the video and email your MPP to engage them to move the issue forward. The site is www.see-us.ca
Please forward this email to as many of your own stakeholders and friends as possible, to spread the word about the Alliance, the website and the importance of emailing their MPP to engage them on this important issue.
There will also be Public Service Announcements that will be aired on television and cable stations across the province. We hope that if you see the PSA's you, please contact the station and applaud them for broadcasting it. This will be a great incentive for the stations to know that the PSAs are being well received by the public and that they serve a vital purpose.
Best regards,
Corinne
